Al Naboodah Logistics LLC successfully hosted the 76th International Air & Shipping Association’s General Assembly. It was held at the Radisson Blu Creek Hotel from Monday 13th April to Wednesday 15th April, in association with a large number of grade ‘A’ category freight forwarder companies. Delegates from 47 countries including Spain, Portugal, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, China and Ireland discussed issues around membership, finance and business opportunities and growth.
In his welcome note, Mr Raed Hiassat, General Manager, Al Naboodah Logistics LLC talked about how IASA is a fantastic network for freight forwarding companies to share knowledge and expertise.
Al Naboodah Logistics LLC is part of the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group, one of the biggest conglomerates in the UAE that has also played a large part in its development.
“I feel it was ideal to choose Dubai for this general assembly. Needless to say Dubai is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It boasts a very strategic location which makes it an international hub for import, export and re-export of goods” Hiassat asserted.
The event began on 12th April with a cocktail reception for the delegates. The next three days included bilateral sales sessions and networking meetings.
More members are joining IASA, and its membership now covers 47 countries with a combined total of some 250+ offices worldwide. The group is made up of 5,000 people globally and generates an annual turnover in excess of one billion dollars.
